I have to say – for a fake stat holiday, today was not a bad day at all.
We started the morning with a trip out to White Meadows Farms for some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had. It turns out my son enjoys maple everything, so needless to say 3 full-bellies left there satisfied. We followed that up by heading over to Market Square to enjoy the Family Day festivities, complete with bouncy castles and a band. Xavier still had a full stomach and the bouncy castle wasn’t high on his list of things to do, but he really enjoyed seeing the fire truck out front and the band playing songs several generations before their own.
The best part of the day was running into Nancy McIntosh from Community Care – Chrissy and Nancy are email friends around Christmas time each year when we run our charity Christmas party, and it was nice for me to finally put a face to the name of someone we deal with on a regular basis. Chrissyhas known her for some time from her days at the newspaper. It was a nice conversation, and a good reminder that Community Care needs our support all year-round.
A good day for the whole family – back to the grind tomorrow.
